ALMAGUIN, ALMAGUINHIGHLANDS, LIVE, WORK, PLAY, WORK LIFE BALANCE

The Almaguin Highlands, located just north of Muskoka, covers approximately 5,200 square kilometers between Muskoka and Nipissing districts. Within this area there are over 50 great quality lakes for swimming and boating – either as a cottager or as a full time resident!

Below you’ll find a quick run down of Almaguin as a whole – our public parks and trails, as well as links to each community’s Facebook groups to stay in touch with local community events!

The Almaguin Highlands are a fantastic place to live, work and play as you have access to all the amenities and events that Muskoka and North Bay have to offer within driving distance, with lower prices and lower taxes.

Our small towns, such as Burks Falls, Sundridge, South River, Magnetawan, Emsdale, Kearney and Katrine offer large lots, beautiful homes, great communities with nice schools for both primary and secondary school. Each community has a park, as listed below, some including waterfront to swim all summer long.

Many families from Almaguin commute into either Huntsville or North Bay to work each day, and the highway 11 corridor is plowed first, so if you can make it to the highway, the hardest part is over.

Burks Falls and Sundridge now have Fibre Optic Internet through Lakeland Networks, and StarLink is coming for the more rural sections of Almaguin, offering true high speed internet – great if you’re working from home or just want to stream Netflix.

If you’re considering moving to Almaguin, it would be lovely to chat with you and figure out which community would best suit your needs.
