Why Choose Sundridge?

  • Water Access
  • Everything you need right in town
  • Great School
  • Veterinarians
  • Lovely Resturants

Sundridge is a very welcoming small community, about 40 minutes north of Huntsville, just off Highway 11.

With just under 1,000 people, the main reason that people pick Sundridge is it’s amazing water access. Located on the shores of Lake Bernard, the largest freshwater lake in the world without an island, there are multiple public access points for you to take full advantage of this beautiful clean lake, including a fantastic playground for kids right at the water’s edge. Sundridge has everything you need right in town – there’s a great grocery store (Foodland), gas station (Danny’s Service Station) Home Hardware with building center (Kidd’s Home Hardware), florist (The Flower Garden), library (Sundridge-Strong Union Public Library), a great food market (Sundridge Meats & Delicatessen) , and gym (PL Fitness). Sundridge also has two car dealerships to help you buy or service your vehicles – either Mac Lang or Bray Motors.

It’s home to the Near North Enviro-Education Centre – which is a research partner for both universities, businesses and the public. It runs a variety of programs, both for local community members and the scholarly community throughout Canada.

Sundridge also has Sundridge Centennial Public School – which is a lovely small school that goes from kindergarten to grade eight. Then the kids move into Almaguin Highlands Secondary in South River (about fifteen minutes north) which was built in 2011, and offers two specialist High Skills Major programs.

If you have animals, Sundridge is the place to go – with two vets in town, they’re your closest option for pet care without driving to Huntsville or North Bay. Your choice of either: Sundridge Veterinary Services or Verzijlenberg Veterinary Hospital

There is also a great restaurant in Sundridge in the Northridge Inn – great for lunch or dinner, with a fantastic view of Lake Bernard. Its often a great choice for birthday or anniversary dinners!
